In June 2024, Masumi Vyas and Arya Dixit were deciding whether to launch Bay6, a sustainable women’s clothing brand, in London, Ontario. To make this decision, the pair needed to assess the environment, evaluate their marketing strategy, and project financial statements for three years.

This case can be used in an undergraduate managerial accounting course. The case should be preceded by supplementary teachings on strategy, accounting, finance, and marketing to prepare students to fully grasp the content. This case can be used in class, as an individual testing point, or a group report. <br><br>After working through the case and assignment questions, students will be able to do the following:<ul><li>Perform an external analysis of the industry, competition, and consumers.</li><li>Perform an internal analysis of the company’s strengths and weaknesses.</li><li>Develop a marketing plan that is justified by the previous analysis regarding pricing and promotion.</li><li>Project three years of financial statements, including cash budgets, statements of earnings, and statements of financial position with sensitivity for three scenarios.</li></ul>
