This case follows Electrohome (A): Projection Systems Division, and discusses the key events that have taken place among the competitors since the (A) case date. Electrohome is developing a new projection system which has the potential to be the best projector on the market. Of key importance is an understanding of the likely actions and reactions of the major competitors in the market. If the Phoenix project fails, Electrohome will likely go bankrupt.
學習目標
To develop skills in analyzing strategy and anticipating the actions of competitors in an effort to retain or strive for market leadership. The case series addresses issues of competitive analysis and competitive dynamics in a technology-intensive industry. It is unusual because it looks at a specific market, industrial projection systems, from the perspective of two of the three major players in a global industry. The case series has been taught successfully to managers in executive programs and to second-year MBA students.
