An entrepreneur was investigating the feasibility of opening an Italian fast food franchise called Rosa's Palas. He spoke to the franchisor concerning a few franchise break-even points, and his return on investment for his restaurant. With this information, the entrepreneur felt he could decide whether he would invest in the franchise.
學習目標
<ul><li>To provide students with a good quantitative exercise to practise projecting cash flows and financial statements.</li><li>To explicitly show the link between the cash flow, income statement, and balance sheet.</li><li>To assess risk by using basic evaluation tools such as determining return on investment (ROI), identifying variable and fixed expenses, and developing breakeven calculations.</li><li>To review the behavior of costs in relation to changes in volume (sensitivity analysis).</li><li>To provide discussion about possible sources of financing.</li></ul>This case would ideally serve as the first case in the financial planning section of a course. It is primarily a quantitative exercise designed to show a complete set of financial projections, under a variety of assumptions.
