Valley Farms International (A)
內容大綱
Valley Farms International (VFI) describes some of the problems and issues involved in selling and exporting dairy cattle to a middle-east country. The decision that John Roberts of VFI must make is whether or not to employ the services of a middleman in that country, a practice which is against the law of that country. This case is the first in a series of cases, Valley Farms International (A) through Valley Farms International (F).
學習目標

To provide students with the opportunity to start developing guidelines for making decisions in difficult situations that are ambiguous with regard to their outcome and that have ethical and legal implications. As part of this process students can compare their decisions with those of an experienced international businessman (who provides his reasoning for them) and also critique his decisions.

To expose students to some of the business and personal realities of international business. Some of the business realities include arranging financing, transportation, and insurance; selling your product; and a lot of international travel just to mention a few.

To expose students to a situation in which the business person was not scared away by all the problems he encountered, but rather accepted them as part of the job and sought to solve them; and continued to make a profit over the long term.
