Valley Farms International continues to export cattle to a middle-eastern country. This case describes some of the issues and problems associated with negotiating the contract, transportation and financing arrangements. The decision facing John Roberts in this case is whether to give in to the demands of an airline crew who are demanding a cash payment as danger pay in order to take off with the load of cattle. This payment is outside the terms of the contract. This case describes John Roberts' decision on the issue in Valley Farms International (C). This is the fourth in a series of cases, Valley Farms International (A) through Valley Farms International (F).

<ul><li>To provide students with the opportunity to start developing guidelines for making decisions in difficult situations that are ambiguous with regard to their outcome and that have ethical and legal implications. As part of this process students can compare their decisions with those of an experienced international businessman (who provides his reasoning for them) and also critique his decisions.</li><li>To expose students to some of the business and personal realities of international business. Some of the business realities include arranging financing, transportation, and insurance; selling your product; and a lot of international travel just to mention a few.</li><li>To expose students to a situation in which the business person was not scared away by all the problems he encountered, but rather accepted them as part of the job and sought to solve them; and continued to make a profit over the long term.</li></ul>
