Drawing on her new book, The Innovation Mindset, IBM Watson Health's Lorraine Marchand discusses common mistakes leaders make in managing innovation. One of her key pieces of advice for managers: Ask, "What problem are we solving for the customer?" and then follow a disciplined process to design a customer-focused solution, rather than first developing a new technology and then figuring out where it could be applied.
