In 2016, the Volkswagen Group (VW Group) announced a new future program, Together-Strategy 2025, which outlined the company's ambition of becoming "a world-leading provider of sustainable mobility" by 2025. The VW Group made it clear that innovation and technology would be essential enablers to the success of the new strategy.
