Finolex: Developing an Integrated Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy

內容大綱
Finolex Industries Limited was India’s largest rigid PVC pipes and fittings manufacturer and the second largest PVC resin manufacturer. It was a family-led enterprise with a long history of philanthropy. The Mukul Madhav Foundation was the charitable arm of the company, and it’s functioning needed to be streamlined while considering the resources, timelines, and strategies required to meet its obligations. A strategic framework had to be applied so that Finolex Industries Limited and the Mukul Madhav Foundation could work together on a long-term basis on projects that benefitted the society as well as the organization.
學習目標
India is one of the few countries in the world where corporate social responsibility (CSR) is mandatory by law. Companies need to create strategies for corporate giving based on the law and on their unique business and strategic contexts. This case can be taught at the post-graduate MBA level in a module on structuring CSR and sustainability in an organization. The case will

foster understanding of the links between business strategy and the social responsibilities of a business;

introduce students to the concept of creating a comprehensive sustainability and CSR strategy in a family-run manufacturing firm; and

familiarize students with the interplay between various functions of an organization and the place of CSR and sustainability in the organization.
