• Favarr.com: Launching an Online Platform

    Favarr.com was the brainchild of two Master of Business Administration graduates from Harvard Business School who were looking forward to their start-up dream. They aim was to solve a problem of cross-border delivery of items through an aggregator model, where travellers would sell spare space in their luggage to carry and deliver goods. The platform was in beta testing mode and available by invitation only. The founders were deliberating on various issues and challenges as they launched their online platform, and the possible available solutions to resolve them.

In 2013, the company decided to cater to both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets and entered into the niche sector of experiential gifting. The value proposition of the start-up was to provide the best gifting solutions for customers while delivering an experience that would build memories. Heading into 2016, Xoxoday.com aimed to grow by acquiring new customers. It promoted its experiences extensively on social media platforms, but the company’s hard work was not paying off. Xoxoday.com needed to figure out what changes needed to be made to its social media plan in order to attract new customers.

  • Digital Secretariat: Adopting an Automated Paperwork System

    The Digital Secretariat project proposed a radical change in the existing workflow of government offices of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The new system aimed to replace manual file processing in the state secretariat, thereby reducing the time consumed during file movement, improving archival facilities, and increasing efficiency. Digital Secretariat was developed by Chhattisgarh Infotech and Biotech Promotion Society in a private partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. The project began in June 2012, but by April 2015, Digital Secretariat had been rolled out in just 23 of the 49 departments it hoped to encompass. Furthermore, an analysis of annual usage records revealed that even the departments that had formally adopted the system were not actually using it as much as anticipated. Chhattisgarh Infotech and Biotech Promotion Society wanted to identify and resolve the factors contributing to these low adoption rates.
